Scottish Ballet Announcement
Paul Liburd portrait auction
Popular figurative artist Hazel Bowman has donated this stunning, full-length charcoal portrait of Soloist Paul Liburd, capturing his unique sense of energy and elegance, to Scottish Ballet.
Hazel spent time in Carmen rehearsals with our dancers last year and the images she produced quickly sold out when they were exhibited in Glasgow’s Christos Gallery.
Scottish Ballet is auctioning this stunning black and white framed image, which measures 1.35m x 1.95m, to raise funds towards the ongoing work of the Company.
Paul Liburd - MBE
"You can feel the power, the movement, and the personality of the dancers in Hazel's work. She has captured the essence in each one of us.
I was completely taken away at the preview of Hazel's exhibition".
Ballet dancer Paul Liburd was awarded the MBE in 2009 for his services to dance. Paul also won the 2009 Dancing Times Award for Best Male Dancer.
