“Wonderful, breathtaking, beautifully captured emotion and stunning physicality.

You have captured the sensation of movement so well that if I look long enough

I expect Carmen to twirl and whirl right out onto the table and dance for us”

Anne Docherty

"The first Hazel Bowman art work we bought was from the Carmen Rehearsals.

We loved the way the movement of the dancers was captured, it was almost as if

they were dancing on the paper. We had never been to a ballet before,

but looking at the pictures inspired us to go; we booked tickets to see

the Scottish Ballet production of Romeo and Juliet. We loved it.

So thank you Hazel for giving us that experience."

Welcome to my website, I am a figurative artist who specialises in charcoal

and mixed media images of dancers and the physical form.

My aim is to capture the energy and atmosphere of a particular moment in an impressionistic style.

I always collaborate with professional dancers ranging from Latvian burlesque dancers to

Russian and Argentinian ballet dancers, and the Scottish Ballet.

I have also been fortunate to have drawn the rehearsals of the Rambert Dance Company at their studios in London.

I exhibit regularly with my work in private collections as far afield as France, Spain, Holland, Austria,

Canada, and Dubai.

Open edition prints of my work are also available from NEXT and Laura Ashley.
